On Thursday, January 21, blood donors at the Des Moines Donor Center began using eQuestionnaire, a new, interactive electronic health and travel questionnaire.

Donors are asked complete eQuestionnaire through the use of a computer terminal, which is designed to enhance the donation experience and save the donor time. Utilizing eQuestionnaire also reduces unnecessary waste by eliminating the need for paper forms and makes significant process enhancements for Blood Center staff.

While eQuestionnaire is new, the donation process has remained unchanged.  Donors still receive the mini-physical as part of the screening process and Blood Center staff will continue to be available to assist donors each during step of the process. 

The Blood Center hopes to implement eQuestionnaire at all donor centers and mobile blood drives later this spring.
